Grilling with Honey
Try this simple honey BBQ sauce on ribs, wings, or even grilled veggies!
This recipe was originally formulated using a combination of Carolina Reaper Honey and Buckwheat Honey. However, the spiciness of the hot Carolina Reaper Honey didn't shine through in the finished product. Cooking is an experiment - it doesn't always turn out the way you expect!
If your goal is a spicy honey barbecue sauce, we recommend using Ghost Pepper Infused Honey in this recipe. Or try Hot Mango Honey for an exciting tropical twist.
We loved the richness the Buckwheat Honey gave this recipe, but if you have another favorite honey, swap it out and give it a try!
15 oz jar tomato sauce
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup Buckwheat Honey
2 Tbsp fish sauce (or Worcestershire sauce)
2 tsp paprika
2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
Combine all ingredients into a sauce pan and heat on medium low until the sauce simmers. Cool and refrigerate leftover sauce. Use within 2 weeks.
Tip: Use the apple cider vinegar to rinse the tomato jar to get all of the tomato out!
