We carry two styles of of Green Tea arriving from China and Japan. Like all teas, these Green Teas come from the camellia sinensis tree, but it’s the harvesting and processing that produce their different characters. Our loose leaf China Green Tea is low in oxidation and pan fired in a dry wok, producing a sweet roasted, or nutty, taste. In contrast, Japanese Green Tea is steamed and therefore may retain a vegetal or marine-like flavor.
Of course, we couldn’t talk to you about Green Tea without mentioning Matcha. One of our most popular drinks at the bar, Matcha is a finely ground Japanese Green Tea that is dissolved rather than steeped in water. Because you are consuming the whole tea leaf in a cup of Matcha, this Green Tea has even more antioxidants and health benefits than those already found in a normal cup!
