V Smiley's preserves are lovingly made with organic ingredients harvested from her family and friend's farms, and minimally sweetened with treatment-free honey from New Haven's local Apiary, Champlain Valley Bees. They are also pectin-free, allowing for the quality and natural textures of the fruit to shine through. Her preserves will change seasonally based on the availability of her fruit.
Cherry Rosehip Hibiscus Jam
This jam is the perfect balance of sweet and sour. Montmorency cherries from NYS with organic rosehips and hibiscus flowers lend tartness, sweetness and balance. Enjoy this jam over soft funky cheeses or dolloped over fresh yogurt.
Cranberry Ginger Pear Jam
A fusion of chopped cranberries and honey-candied ginger with organic Bartlett pear jelly combine to create this zesty jam that is a favorite of cold-weather dwellers!
Spicy Smoky Heirloom Tomato Jam
A savory jam that can easily replace your ketchup! V’s formula includes Mediterranean-style peppers and her organically grown heirloom tomatoes. This multi-use jam can also be used as a great jumping point for quick BBQ sauce, or simply enjoyed with chévre cheese and/or sourdough bread. Medium heat.
Pear Fig Quince Conserve
This rustic and chunky conserve is a combination of organic pear and fig with the aromatic quince. But don’t let the simple title fool you! V adds the spicy bergamot effect
of Meyer lemon zest with a dash of rum, elevating this conserve to a level of excellence. Drop this on your cheese board and

Pear Lemon Sage White Pepper Marmalade
A savory marmalade made of organic
lemons and Bartlett pears steeped with sage and lavender from V’s farm. White pepper gives the marmalade a little heat. This textured marmalade is warm, lemony, bright, and slightly spicy. Excellent with aged raw goat milk cheese or parmesan or pecorino.
Blackcurrant Shiro Plum Jam
Blackcurrant and sweet Japanese early season Shiro plums are harvested from New York and Vermont to produce this deeply flavored jam. Enjoy this medium set preserve with flavor notes of pine and berry as an accompaniment to meat cookery or heavier fish. Specifically, we love this jam alongside venison, duck or black cod. In pastry, this is the perfect jam to dollop in thumbprint cookies or to add to a layered cake.
Navel Orange Mission Fig Cardamom Marmalade
This fresh flavored marmalade combines organic oranges, lemons and figs with toasted green cardamom. A proper stiff set and a good match with aged cheeses with nutty flavors (think gouda & cheddar). This preserve is a fancy orange marmalade with broad appeal which makes a gorgeous, unique gift.
